Favorite Movie Trailers

How about a mostly useless list of my favorite trailers? Okay, not mostly useless, I'm actually studying trailers and what I like about them for a reason....I notice I like delicate music and nostalgia and eerie beauty...

#1 Beauty and the Beast:

Both the teaser and full trailer to Beauty and the Beast chilled me and brought me to tears like EVERY TIME....the artistry and nostalgia of it is just...beautiful....

Favorite Part of the Trailer: UM. The MUSIC. Also, the gorgeous settings.

Trailer or Movie?: Trailer....the movie was nice, but there was a certain disappointment about it that kept me from loving it more....and the trailer is just too plain tantalizing.

#2: Return of the King:

So I had this further down the list and then I rewatched it and was like THIS IS SO AWESOME!

Favorite Part: Everything.

Trailer or movie?: Both. Love. Forever.

#3: The Jungle Book:

It says something that I got SO EXCITED for a remake of an animated movie I never cared for....

Favorite Part: UM. Scarlet's VOICE? The build of the music? THE GORGEOUS ATMOSPHERE?

#4: Maleficent:

Favorite Part: This version of "Once Upon a Dream" is so beautiful....and while listening to this trailer without a screen, I envision a great trailer for Dragonwitch.

Movie or Trailer?: Hmmmmm....the movie was good....I probably still love this trailer best, just cause I steal the sound of it for other purposes, lol.

#5: Avengers: Age of Ultron:

Favorite part: The Pinocchio theme...I'm noticing a pattern here, I love nostalgic and eerie movie themes....

Trailer or Movie?: They are both excellent.

#6: Rebels Season 2 Finale  (Ashoka version):

Rebels I never really have cared for....but Clone Wars....that great show that got tragically ended too soon because Disney bought Star Wars.....that was amazing...and this finale in Rebels addressed one of the BIGGEST questions in Star Wars outside the main movies...

#7: Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

Favorite Part: How they bring in those classic Star Wars themes!!!!! PLAY THAT MUSIC, PLAY IT!

Trailer or movie?: Eh, both.

#8: Dead Men Tell No Tales:

Favorite Part: Basically the first 30 seconds. The rest of it is is fine then sort of piddles into a shrug...

Trailer or Movie?: Definitely trailer....I just saw the movie and thought it was a mess. :P

#9: Battle of the Five Armies:

Favorite Part: THEY BROUGHT IN BILLY BOYD SINGING THAT TRAGIC SONG.

Trailer or Movie?: Well, I think this sets the tone of the movie pretty well....it was good....sad....had too much silly violent stuff in the extended version...

#10: Saving Mr. Banks:

This trailer is basically just a short version of the movie and I LOVE THE MOVIE SO MUCH, so yeah.

What are your favorites, peeps? :D

Oh my word, I love rewatching favourite movie trailers! (Particularly Maleficent, LOTR, and Beauty & the Beast. ;) )

I so agree on Dead Men Tell No Tales. The trailer was fun but the movie was so... not? XD

I love this list, Hannah! :)

Love the selection :)

I hadn't seen a lot of these, having watched them years later, 'tis interesting seeing what they were like.
Especially the Lord of the Rings.

The Malificent trailer is actually so much like Dragonwitch, :o !

But you guys didn't like Dead Men Tell No Tales? I really enjoyed it, perhaps not as much as the others, but it was still good :(

When my mom was busy shopping in K-mart when I was younger, I would go and watch previews of the Lord of the Rings movies that they had on the online catalog. It was a great way to pass the time :)

And man, Dara, now THAT sounds like the way to spend shopping blues...

I LOVE the Lord of the Rings trailers! Another favorite would be the 2016 Ben Hur movie. Movie and trailer - equally awesome!!!

UGH. That Rebels trailer!!!!! I had never seen that one before, and it just....oh the feels....WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS TO ME??! XD

That final duel just broke my heart....and I hadn't even watched through Clone Wars yet!!!

Just curious, but why do you not care for Rebels when you love TCW?

OH YEAH!! Have you seen the season 4 trailer for Rebels yet???! Talk about nostalgia! I seriously almost cried when I first saw that one, just from the pure raw emotion in Hera's voice while coupled with all those clips of everything they've been through and how much Ezra and Sabine have changed. (Of course, the announcement that came right before that trailer may have had something to do with it too....)
Even if you don't care much for the show itself, that is one of the most epic trailers I have ever seen in my life. The feels are just off the chart.

Well, there is something about the storytelling and animation in Clone Wars that strikes me as superior. Rebels feels a lot more like a kid-based show, and riddled with plot holes. Rebels usually insists on 1 or 2 episode long stories whereas Clone Wars was in 4 episode long stories by seasons four and five....

Plus...I just never cared very much for the Rebels characters. :( Quite honestly the only time I've enjoyed it is when Clone Wars characters returned.

But hey, I'm glad you enjoy it so much!!! I did see the trailer for Season 4 and I'm looking forward to Bo Katan returning....plus, I'm curious what they will about Ashoka, if they do anything.
