What's Up With Moonscript?

We are approaching Christmas and the end of the year. Around this time last year, I finished the first draft of Moonscript. And all I can do now is blink and ask, "Where did the time go?"
Errance, Prince of Aselvia

Alas, I did no such grand thing as write a novel this year (although I have written three lengthy short stories), but my mind is always busy! And Moonscript is under constant consideration.

I was blessed to have the first third of the draft reviewed by a lovely, encouraging, and insightful editor who pointed out many problems (especially considering my villain) that I hadn't noticed. This led me to take another look at my story, and I realized...I'm not at the level of writing I want to be yet! Surprise, surprise. So for now, Moonscript is sitting and stewing. Never fear, dear readers, it is often on my mind as I consider new ways to improve it. In the meanwhile, I'm improving my writing, completing short stories, and reading fantastic books that stretch my mind to new heights.

So what about you? Any writing projects this season?

Three WIPs. Still. Two almost-finished; one is . . . not. But will be finished by or during next Camp NaNoWriMo. Hopefully. And all three need edited once they're done . . . yeah.
On a less Sarah's-been-doing-these-stories-forever note, I'm also writing a poem for Advent. I'm halfway done and need to write Part 3 soon.

Good luck with Moonscript! Do you plan to pursue publication? If so, do you want to self-publish or traditionally publish? I have one first draft (my first novel) that is currently not being looked at because I feel overwhelmed just thinking about it, and another WIP that I'm currently drafting. I'm about one third to one half through the novel. And then I'm working on a few shorter pieces on the side. I am also trying to push new ideas that are scrambling for attention away, because they are distracting me.

I was wondering how Moonscript was going, it`s been a while.

Although I have many projects on the go, I only have one finished piece I seriously want to release. I`m thinking of finding a critique group or a writing group.

Your picture of Errance looks awesome. :D

I'm glad to hear that you're still thinking of Moonscript! I've been wondering about it for a few months now. Do you have a plan for when you'll start working on it again?

I just started working on editing my novel IOTW (*nervous hyperventilating*) at the start of this month while I let my other novel, Prince's Rose, sit. Though I feel like I'm not getting much done since I'm not actually writing anything, I'm more or less making progress in my edits.

Happy Approaching-Christmas! :)

Is Moonscript your book? I like the artwork. I am working on a the thinking-up part of a book, I am hoping it will be the first decent book I write.

I enjoyed the update about Moonscript. I know what you mean about having your work edited. I've learned a lot this year about writing, too. It's very humbling but rewarding. Always helpful to get input from others. I'll be praying as you continue to write and develop your characters.
I've been toying around with a Snow White retelling that's been lots of fun. I'm also doing lots of revisions on my Five Enchanted Roses contest entries. Hope that you're still planning to enter the contest. God bless you.

I can relate!! Every time I write something, I get better... which means I can strengthen the last thing I wrote. *sigh* Isn't it odd how something you love so much can make you so tired sometimes?

It's best sometimes to let things sit and stew. I can understand feeling like you're writing isn't where it should be yet. But don't be discouraged! Even from what little I've seen/read of Moonscript, I know it's something marvelous! <3

Thanks so much for the encouragement, everyone! Sorry it took me so long to write back!

Ana, yes, I plan to pursue traditional publishing. Yes, Jemma, Moonscript is one of my works in progress. Oh, I'm not discourage, Ghostie! I'm actually quite content.

Everyone's projects sound awesome! Keep up the good work!

I hope publishing goes well for you! If you succeed, you should put up a post with some pointers about it. :D I'm still super excited for your book! And... if you ever need any more proof-readers, put me on the list! ;D
