Read-Along and Giveaway!

Did you know that Anne Elisabeth is hosting a Christmas Read-along on her book, Veiled Rose? If you have read or are just reading this book, bounce on over to discover a wealth of insight into the story and sneak peaks into the future tales.

I found today's post particularly interesting, since I'm a big fan of The Legend of the Brothers Ashiun. :)

Also, I thought you might like to know that Gillian Adams is hosting yet another book giveaway over at her blog. This time, she's giving away a copy of both The Orphan King and Fortress of Mist by Sigmund Brouwer. Check it out!

Oh, I'm loving the read-along! It was so interesting reading her thoughts about the Brothers Ashiun. However, I was stunned when I read that her publishers thought Etanun and Akilun's story was misleading and didn't have a happy ending. What other ending could have been more happy?

Oh, I know! I was stunned as well. It was so perfect to me. I was a little bit sad about the antagonist of the book, but that didn't stop my happiness for the Brothers Ashiun! I'm so happy that we'll get to see a little more of them in future stories that (I assume) take place in the past. :)

Yes, Rhi Sor breaks my heart. I definitely was surprised since Bethany House is a Christian publishing company. Wouldn't they understand where she was going with the ending? And, to know that they didn't like Veiled Rose was a shocker as well. But, it worked out in God's perfect timing. I never knew she was writing the second draft in the midst of wedding preparations. Wow!

So thrilled that we'll learn more of Akilun in future novellas! Always thought he deserved more attention. I assume the stories will be in the past, too, but wouldn't it be interesting if Akilun was appointed to be a guardian of a mortal like Eanrin and Beana? Wonder what kind of animal she'd choose for him? Interesting thought.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Akilun too, Meredith!

I always wondered if Akilun and Etanun were the types of faeries that could turn into animals. I decided they weren't, but Etanun was obviously quite powerful with his abilities to change form and send messages to the mind with mere thought. At the same time, if they did take animal form, I could an eagle for Etanun and perhaps an owl for Akilun. Heh, heh.

Have you noticed that though Beana can take the form of a goat, she is also a Lady of Aiven, which is a mortal country? I'm guessing she's of mixed blood. :)

I agree, Hannah. Beana seems human in some respects, but the Dragon is certainly afraid of her, so either Eshkhan has enabled her to transform, or she has some Faerie blood. It will be so interesting to see how the goblins fit into Aiven's history.

And, I am ready to see some more animals that are not what they seem. Golden Daughter will be interesting since poor Eanrin will be confronted by three dogs! Ha! I like the image of Etanun as an eagle and Akilun as an owl!
