Five Glass Slippers Blog Tour--Emma Clifton

ONE BELOVED STORY,  FIVE EXCITING WRITERS
A COLLECTION TO CHERISH

What happens when Cinderella is so painfully shy that she cannot bear the idea of attending the royal ball? Or when the slipper fits . . . but on the wrong girl? What happens when Cinderella is determined to oust an imposter prince from her rightful throne? Or when she is a cendrillon miner working from a space station orbiting a cthonian planet? What happens when Cinderella, a humble housemaid, is sent with a message for a prisoner trapped in a frightening fairy circus?

Here is Cinderella as you have never met her before, wearing glass slippers and off on unforgettable adventures!

Available now in paperback and Kindle formats!

“Broken Glass” by Emma Clifton

The slipper fits . . . but on the wrong girl! Rosalind never once danced with Prince Marius at the ball, for she is in love with his brother Henry. If only Rosalind and Marius would stop bickering long enough to invent a scheme, perhaps the three of them can find the real mystery lady. But they must work quickly, for dark deeds are afoot, and the kingdom is poised on the brink of disaster.

Me--Your story, Broken Glass,’ is full of vivacious characters whose personalities clash and bounce off each other. What five fictitious characters would you invite to a tea party (just so you could amuse yourself watching them interact)?

Emma--I'd invite Granny from Downtown Abby.  She's a proper British woman who knows how to take tea.  But manners don't stop her from making her witty jabs at those around her.
Next I'd invite Loki.  Just seeing him and Granny together would be hysterical.  Need I say more?
The 10th Doctor from Doctor Who would be there too.  He's so funny and quirky and would annoy Granny and Loki to no end.
And of course, you can't have a tea party without some Disney characters! I'd invite Yzma from the Emperor's New Groove (Kronk would come too, because they're kind of a package deal).  I'm sure she'd get along famously with Granny.  :P

Finally, I'd invite Sherlock (from the modern BBC version).  He'd probably be very annoyed, but rather amused observing everyone else at the party.  He probably also wouldn't understand the point of having a tea party.

Annnnd....that will be the best tea party ever! Can I come too and watch the fun? Thanks, Emma, for the wonderful answer and great story!

About Emma Clifton

Emma Clifton has been thinking up stories since before she knew how to type them out.  Reading books such as the Chronicles of Narnia, The Door Within Trilogy, and Redwall inspired her to take her writing more seriously.  Though her rigorous homeschool education keeps her busy, she also enjoys sewing, reading, and spending time with her family in beautiful Northern Virginia.

 My Review
Now I posted this review before, but in case you're new here, here it is again!
I've been waiting for this collection a long time!!! And what a wonderful fulfillment. Each author's writing takes you off on a tale so original and still so Cinderella. There is truly great talent displayed here. It is incredible to see each unique and beautiful voice tell the tale in their own special way, with their own special twist. Each story is a gem to be treasured, shining in the crown of their authorhood!

What Eyes Can See by Elisabeth Brown:
I enjoyed how the stepmother and stepsisters were not evil people in this story...just high-class women trying to cope with an extremely reclusive Cinderella. It was kind of hard to pinpoint who the main character of this story really was, but it was clear by the end. I also appreciated how she showed how shallow the Prince's love for Cinderella was in the original story and how he learned better.

Broken Glass by Emma Clifton:
This was so imaginative! It seemed every character was in conflict! I really had no idea who would end up with who at first. All the couples seemed to be quite unfit for each other! And may I just say...one character reminded me of Loki. Heheh. And the ending! Oh, I groaned at the cleverness of the ending.

On The Windy Side of Care by Rachel Heffington:
This author's voice is amazing! The descriptions, the characters! Wow, it was so excellent. And the plot was quite clever. The Cinderella of this story is so snarky and self-confident; she cracked me up.

A Cinder's Tale by Stephanie Ricker:
One of the first thing that strikes you about this tale is that it is not a story in a world...this is a world that this story takes place in. This universe is big, and the author knows its workings like the back of her hand. The camaraderie of the characters is endearing and very real...this is great science fiction and I'm delighted to hear that the author is continuing exploring the world in her upcoming The Cendrillon Cycle!

The Moon Master's Ball by Clara Darling:
I love it. Let's start with that. The magical mood of the world, the sweet characters...and the Moon Master himself. Ah, he was definitely my favorite. The author creates a peaceful little village under a unknown shadow with a terrible prison disguised before their very eyes. The cleverness of how the Cinderella themes are woven in delightful and I hope the author will write much more in this enchanting world!

If you love Cinderella, fairy tales, fantasy, or just lovely stories, you must read this amazing collection from Rooglewood Press!

I know it would be insanely rude to crash a tea party...but can you film it for me, at least? It sounds hilarious!

I rub my hands together at the thought of reading this book, the stories sound delicious.

Y'all are welcome at the party! The more the merrier! I'd love to know what characters you'd invite to such a party, Hannah. :P

Oh my... This would be QUITE the tea party! ;) I love that you included Yzma and Kronk, LOL. Kronk can make his spinach puffs! ;)

Super fun question and response, you two! Thank you for featuring Emma, Hannah! :)

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the question! Heheh, it tickled me as well!

Emma, who would I choose? Hmm.....Eugenides from the Queen's Thief series come to mind first. He's not very social, but he tends to cause scenes at social gatherings. And of course, Eanrin would have to be there and he would want the show to be all about HIM. And Olaf the snowman should be there too. Because who doesn't love Olaf? And for a girl, I'd say Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender, whether she's the cunning princess or the crazed psychopath!!!! And Captain Hook from the old Disney movie! He will be there to add CLASS to everything.

Okay. That would another tea party I'd die to go to. Come to think of it, I probably would die if Azula and Captain Hook clashed. Don't get too near the fire, Olaf!!! *gasp*

Everyone's welcome! Bring a tasty tea snack to share, if you'd like. :P

Emma, I'm in the middle of your story now. I've been laughing throughout, and now the characters are getting themselves into a very complicated situation. Will it work out?! I have a feeling that with Darcy involved it won't work out as smoothly as some had hoped. I'm looking forward to reading how it all resolves!

Congratulations on your story!

That would sure be a very fun tea party! I especially love how Emma included Izma and Kronk in the mix.

I too would love to watch the scene unfold with these characters!
